Girl Scout Programs & Activities

Girls learn the importance of personal responsibility, the value of goal-setting, the spirit of teamwork, and the thrill of accomplishment by planning and participating in many rewarding and enriching experiences.

The Girl Scout program is based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law and four fundamental goals that encourage girls to:

Girl Scouts are divided into Daisy Girl Scouts (ages 5-6), Brownie Girl Scouts (ages 6-8), Junior Girl Scouts (ages 8-11), Cadette Girl Scouts (ages 11-14), or Senior Girl Scouts (ages 14-17).

Outreach Programs

Because not all girls are able to participate in volunteer led troops, due to various geographic, socioeconomic and emotional challenges, Girl Scouts brings Girl Scouting to them to serve their special needs. The Council's outreach programs include: girls who may live in public housing, rural communities, "the barrios", the "colonias," and the El Paso County Juvenile Detention Center. Girls who cannot or do not wish to participate in a troop/group, can still participate as a Juliette Girl Scout and do most of the same activities as girls who participate in troops/groups.
