Volunteer Opportunities and Resources
Our adult volunteers make it possible for us to bring Girl Scouting to more than 500 Girl Scout troops, and continue to provide activities and events for more than 5,500 girls in an eight county region of West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
Volunteering and Membership
As registered members of Girl Scouts, both women and men from 18 years of age and older, can serve as volunteer leaders, consultants, and program specialists in areas such as science, engineering, technology, the arts, child development, adult education, outdoor education and administration. By sharing your talents and skills, you help us build girls of courage, confidence and character.
While troop leaders are always needed, there are many other ways to volunteer. Whether your schedule permits you to volunteer once a month, on weekends, evenings, or during one-time events, you can make a difference in girls' lives and in your community.

How to become a volunteer
Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande Council works with volunteers to match their skills, willingness and available time (no matter how small) to an appropriate volunteer role. Volunteers who work with girls are asked to complete the screening process that consists of a volunteer application and three references. Contact us for more information
